There’s a scene from the Marvel Cinematic Universe where Eddie Brock is unceremoniously disrespected by a police detective who is unaware of the symbiotic relationship between our flawed host and the parasitic alien living within him. Brock is forced to wrestle this alien, Venom, into the nearest camode before the cop’s head is bitten off.
Societal expectations demand that our conduct generally remains buttoned up during public interactions, lest we wish to be floated out to sea on an iceberg while our colleagues and neighbors fire flaming arrows at us from the shore…or risk having our heads removed by a carnivorous extraterrestrial.
Honestly, a celebration is in order for the level self self-control you demonstrate with regularity, because some folks out there are truly asking for it. Thankfully, North Plainfield punk outfits Indeyevid and Bride Riot have provided us with “Queen of Violence,” a new single we can scream along to, instead of shouting into the faces of strangers who have fried our final nerves.

“Try me!” pleads Amanda Indeyevid, as her internal Venom loses its mind on a deserving antagonist, while the vocalist seemingly remains composed on the outside. Meat cleaver guitar riffs stir the flames of this single, as Indeyevid’s internal Queen of Violence persona ultimately claws its way to the surface. “Say my name!” she demands, before the sovereign warrior emerges.
Check out Indeyevid and Bride Riot’s video for “Queen of Violence,” as well as their cover of Sabrina Carpenter’s “Tears,” below. You also have two chances to see Indeyevid live on February 6 at The Meatlocker in Montclair, and on February 28 at The Boonton Elks Lodge.
